THE KEY STAT: Corpus Christi converted just one of 13 on third downs and one of nine
on fourth down while Frisco was 5-7 on third down.
COUNTING COOPER, CONTINUED: Wes Cooper was not sacked for the fifth consecutive game,
even though he drew a pair of intentional grounding calls in the third quarter. Though
he leads the IFL in passing this was the first time in five games Cooper had more yards
than his counterpart.
TOTAL YARDS: Frisco outgained Corpus Christi 272-212 in total yards, marking the first
time since the Katy victory in week two the Thunder's outgained their opponent.
HISTORY AND HAMMERHEADS: This was Frisco's first victory over Corpus Christi in four meetings ...
The 72 points were the third highest in team history and most since a 76-28 whomping of San Angelo
on 6/16/07 ... On the flip side, Corpus Christi's 31 points was the Hammerheads' lowest output since a 44-24
loss at CenTex in 2006.
NOT SO SPECIAL TEAMS: With Corpus Christi going for it on fourth down nine times and kicking off deep just twice
KR Kevin Lenford had a quiet night with just two returns for 53 yards. He did have a 34-yarder that set up Frisco's
first touchdown.
PLAYMAKER IN THE HOUSE: Former Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Irvin received a rousing ovation from the
DeJa Blue Arena crowd when he was announced and handled the coin toss. The Hall of Famer watched the game
from the suite of owner Jake Reed.
HOME FINALE: The 5-2 homestand is one win better than last year's 4-3.
